In 2008 I made a trip to Ladakh. The northernmost region of India in the state of Himachal-Pradesh. This area used to belong to the Tibetan empire and is also known as Little Tibet. China claims the area as a Chinese territory still. It is an upland area (over 3200 meters) with its own people, its own language and its own script which are more Tibetan than Indian. The trip started in Delhi. From there by air to Leh, the capital of Tibet. I've done a 6 day trek and after that a bus trip on the highest highway (up to more than 5300 meters high) over the Himalayas to Manali, Dharamsala, Amritsar and back to Delhi. A journey with beautiful memories of a beautiful area, great people and especially a very nice group of companions.
